Cattle Application Guide
Overview
SEA-90 Soil Mineraliser + is a broad-spectrum ocean mineral product that contains a full range of macro minerals, trace elements and naturally occurring humates. While commonly applied to soil and pasture, it is also effectively fed to livestock as a loose mineral supplement, delivering minerals in their natural ionic form alongside humic substances that support digestion, nutrient uptake and overall animal performance.
Premium Mineral + Garlic is a livestock mineral blend based on the same ocean-derived mineral profile, with the addition of garlic to support natural fly deterrence and immune function. When used together, these products support mineral balance in cattle.
Consumption rates:
Beef Cattle:
Introductory rate 2-300G/HD/Day
Maintenance rate: 20-50G/HD/day
Dairy Cattle:
200g/HD/day
Key Benefits
Livestock mineral nutrition
Feeding SEA-90 Soil Mineraliser supplies cattle with a wide spectrum of essential minerals and trace elements that are often missing from modern forages. These minerals play a critical role in enzyme activity, immune function, reproduction, bone development and metabolic efficiency.
Humates for gut and nutrient efficiency
The humate component in the soil mineraliser supports rumen function by improving mineral chelation and nutrient absorption. Humates help bind toxins, support beneficial microbes and improve feed efficiency, particularly in stressed or mineral-deficient animals.
Improved appetite and intake regulation
Cattle instinctively seek minerals they are deficient in. When offered free choice, animals will often self-regulate intake, consuming more initially and tapering off as mineral balance improves.
Reduced fly and insect pressure
Premium Mineral Plus Garlic provides natural support against flies and biting insects. Compounds from the garlic are excreted through the skin, helping reduce insect attraction and irritation without relying on chemical treatments.
Whole system resilience
Mineral-balanced livestock are generally more resilient, with improved coat condition, stronger immune response, better weight gain and improved fertility outcomes. When paired with mineralised soils and pastures, the benefits compound across the entire production system.
Application Timing
365 Days/Year: Soil Mineraliser +
When required: Premium Mineral + Garlic
Pro Tips
Brine tank
A brine tank is an effective way to deliver SEA-90 minerals in a highly available form. Mix 3 kg of SEA-90 into 380 L of clean water and allow it to fully dissolve. This improves mineral bioavailability and hydration efficiency, helps mineralise livestock through water intake, and provides a self serve electrolyte source for scouring calves. Always provide fresh plain water alongside the brine.
Free choice feeding
Feed SEA-90 Soil Mineraliser free choice in troughs or lick systems. Livestock self regulate intake based on deficiency, with intake often higher initially before stabilising. Best results come from consistent access rather than short term supplementation.
Health issues linked to mineral deficiency
Consistent free choice mineral access supports a reduction in common mineral related issues, including
• Pinkeye
• Lice
• Flies and ticks
• Scouring
• Pulpy kidney
• Grass tetany
• Poor coat condition
• Low immunity
Seasonal garlic use
Use Premium Mineral Plus Garlic during periods of high fly pressure, then return to straight SEA-90 minerals outside of fly season.
Observe the livestock
Let the cattle tell you how the program is working. Improvements are often seen in coat condition and shine, manure consistency, grazing behaviour, temperament, and overall resilience during seasonal stress.
